Pet Sitters/Dog Walkers

All our sitters are experienced animal lovers and owners.  They are police & reference checked, trained and regularly assessed to ensure they are meeting our high standards.
Our group dog walkers are also Pet Tech CPR and First Aid certified.

I started Pet Sitters NZ in 2004, due to a niche in the market for in home pet care.  Being a huge animal lover and caring for many different species over the years and caring for my friends pets when they went away, I decided to quit my day job in 2006 and start pet sitting full time.

Having spent 2 years at Equestrian college in the UK, I've continued my studies with animals and am a certified Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International, a certified Dog Walker through Dog Tech and CPR/First Aid trained through PetFAT.

I have also have a passion for dog behavior and recently completed several courses by Dr Ian Dunbar such as how to train your puppy and completed the 4 day Sirius dog trainer academy.

I’ve worked with Pet Sitters since 2023, starting off as a casual pet sitter. I completed a certificate in Animal Care and now am a permanent group dog walker and pet sitter in the Nelson area.

I love animals and have been working with them since 16. I am a qualified veterinary nurse but I’m not quite ready to give up my doggy walks yet.

I love working with dogs of all shapes and sizes but have a soft spot for the oldies. I have a lovely older dog named Honey, as well as 2 young and crazy cats named Mort and Rigby.

I love cats & dogs, but due to current circumstances, I can’t have any pets at home. I’ve grown up with cats and dogs, but now get my animal fix by caring for other people’s pet’s and helping out the group dog walkers from time to time.

I have been a big animal lover all my life and grown up with Golden Retrievers and cats.

I started off as a causal Pet Sitter back in 2018, now I walk groups of dogs 5 days a week, where we enjoy outings at the beach and other local exercise areas.

Building relationships with a wide variety of different dogs is what I enjoy most.

I have a Level 3 Certification in Animal Care, completed an accredited animal psychology course online, a fear free shelter course and pet sitting/dog walking courses to enhance my skills.

I’m now enrolled in the Karen Pryor comprehensive dog behavior course and have over a year of experience volunteering at the SPCA, where I developed a passion for improving animal lives.

It’s my dream to look after people’s animals while they’re away from home, whether it’s walking their dogs or pet sitting.

I work as a casual pet sitter/dog walker in Nelson and Atawhai.
